Gearbox is from an 95 Oz spec car.
I bought it to put in my car as part of the conversion to 4wd.
I can no longer get the rear suspension to fit from parts in Australia so I'm changing conversions.

I was told that the gearbox came out of a car that had done about 85 000km, but was then sold with a Jap engine & engine instead.

Gear selection is fine, & these gearboxes are bulletproof due to the double synchros plus bigger gears.

The flywheel & clutch are stockers (need a quick machine to clean the faces though) but are designed to handle 190kW from the factory.

I actually bought from a guy in Mackay.
Where abouts is Rosewood? I'm originally from Brissie & will most likely be heading back there for Christmas.

	Yes it should.
This one has an electronic speedo, so that may be an issue if yours has a cable driven one.

Gearbox only. Where does the cooler fit to, I haven't seen any line attachments anywhere?

I paid $750 for the box about 4 months ago.

I also had to pay for it to be shipped from Mackay to Brisbane, so even when I sell it for $750 here, I'm losing money.

So the price is $750.

I can deliver it for no extra cost to anyone in Sydney or close by during the next 2 weeks.

	The ST205, ST185's and MR2 SW20's have interchangable clutch / flywheel setups.

Don't you have anything better to do Toobs?
Cheers anyway.

you should be able to use your existing clutch & flywheel, which suits me as I think I'll be needing the flywheel for my proposed engine setup.

Nahh just watching this thread to make sure you're not going to throw the thing away too cheap... that and I have been looking heavily into the similarities and differences between the ST185 and ST205.

It cost me about $250 to get the gearbox, clutch, flywheel, starter motor, front driveshafts & hubs shipped from Mackay to Brisbane (I brought it from there to Sydney)

I will definitely be driving from Sydney to Brisbane at around Christmas time.
If you're prepared to give me an extra $50, I can deliver it then. Or maybe for a few extra bucks on top of that, I could deliver it a earlier.

	hahahah ok, most ppl do
has it been split and checked for anything do u know? i just dont wanna pay that much for sumthing that i cant be sure is in perfect condition u know.
i would have to spend like $400 taking it apart to make sure its worth putting in, cus the last thing i want is to put it in and sumthing goes wrong soon enough and me have to drop my engine again.
so do u know much about it?

I may have, its just that I'm not that far into computers.

From what I know:

It come out of an Aussie ST205 with about 80 000km. It came out because the engine was almost seized. Not through a lack of maintenance, but a radiator pipe got holed while on a "spirited" drive & the temp guage wasn't noticed til almost too late.
A jap ST205 halfcut then was going to go in & the original engine rebuilt. RAV_GT4 bought the rebuild kit though.
The rolling shell was sold with the halfcut, leaving a broken engine & good gearbox.

Everything spins, gearchange works properly.

I can't remember most of the questions I asked when I bought it, but I'm very careful when I buy something like this. I don't like wasting money, & I wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't satisfied with what I was getting.

	dont blame ya
so u know theres no problems with it at all right?
u know what i mean tho, im spending 2 grand in labor already for dropping engine and some parts. the last thing i want is to put the box in and have to spend another 2 grand soon after to get it fixed again.
so i gotta consider if i get it, whether i trust it or spend 500ish on checkin it. reckon it would cost about 150 for freight to the sunshine coast? cus i would need it like next week prob.

	Do you mean rear diff?
If so, no. But your rear diff is the same ratio as the ST205 version.

If you mean front & centre diffs. They are inside the gearbox, so they are there.

Weight of the gearbox is 88kg.
Weight of the timber pallet it came on & which I'll be fixing it to to have it couriered, 6kg.

I'll ring up some transport companies today to find out a cost.

Where about on the sunny coast are you?

hopefully your sale goes well waginist - I can viuch heavily for 205 GB now - they are SO sweet to use and REALLY worth the effort of the swap if someone in a GT4 wants it ..

The box feels alot smoother in most respects to a 185 box + definanlty feel the front couplings working when the roads wet
