Chain Tensioner Leaking Oil... Tue, 17 August 2004 07:00 Go to next message
my tensioner on my 2TG is leaking oil from the locking nut, would that mean its stuffed and not working properly? my engine runs fine, no noises or anything, but the tensioner leaks oil whenever i drive my car, if it isnt can i just unscrew the lock nut apply a bitta silicon around it and then lock it up again?? otherwise maybe its time for a newer tensioner??

cheers.

Its not stuffed. Its just that the o-ring inside is rooted.

This might help a little: http://members.iinet.net.au/~shanej/2TG%20Chain%20 Tensioner%20Rebuild/Untitled-1.htm
