Finally got my car!

Well, its only taken ages...I finally managed to get my project car. I ended up buying a 1981 Celica XX 2000G. It is basically a JDM Mk2 Supra, with a 1GEU.
It needs a lot of work...but...there is no major rust spots and it has a good tailgate. Oh, and the engine runs like a dream. Hopefully when Kevz0r gets off his arse and organises our dyno day, I'll get another temporary permit for it, and see if it can take it to one of the 5ME Supras there, because its quicker than any auto OR manual 5ME version I've driven.
Managed to get it for $1700 with some parts (that is a perfect drivers door in some of those pics).
Pics are on my site:

Its got a couple of dings, and a couple of minor rust spots (apart from the doors) and the interior is a bit dodge. The engine is in really good nick and the rust is all stuff that can be fixed, even the tailgate has barely any rust.
The guy was selling it for a mate who was going to do it up for his girlfriend...but they broke up or something and he wanted to get rid of it..."bad memories".

Nah, the engine is going to be there for a while, the bulk of my cashflow at the moment will be towards fixing the body at the moment.

Because I have to save up more money for the engine, being a uni student and all, and I want to make sure the small amount of rust the car already has doesn't get any worse

I care about the rust!!!
I just spent a few months finding a car that wasn't going to fall to pieces on me, sure as hell not going to let it get any worse on me!! Don't worry, the engine will be done ASAP!...after the body

OMG! You mentioned 7M!
Watch out or JCMF might bite your head off. Lets make a prediction of what he'll say ok:
- It's too heavy
- It's old technology
- They blow head gaskets
BAH! Fix the damn HG before it gives you grief and you got a plenty good motor!

Hey Kev, The car in your avatar is that a Celica/Supra?
There is one of those at the wreckers down the road from me! It looks to be in good condition, but i'm not sure if it is being wrecked!

Haha, I'm going to shove a 1UZFE right tucked up into the long engine bay. Should give it a good centre of balance.
But yeah:
-Too heavy
-Aren't as rev-happy
-I'd like an engine that "while it can be sorted" doesn't have a problem with blowing HG's in the first place
