I thought all the 5SFE's released here were 100kW...I know the last model Celica and stuff was.
Well you learn something new every day.

Camry's have lots of quiet parts on them. I still suspect that, but any other feedback is welcome.
But when it revs it still gets loud anyway. The newest camry's are quieter still.

He lists the AW11 as having a 3AGE so I'd take everything on that site with a grain of salt.

So nothing besides the fact that redline and what the tacho goes up to max are two different things? I could also throw in that an auto transmission limits even further that you will not even redline if in D. But that is just adding to the obvious.
Thanks Sam. But even so, it's still got to be different in some way for them to throw the same engine into a "sports car" doesn't it?

Basically, I read some where, the difference betweeen the 5SFE in the Celica, and the one in the Camry, is that there is some part on the Celica engine that is modified to breath a little better and give it a "sportier" sound.

Oh ok. Probably no difference now then. I got a k&n panel filter for mine last year. No need for a pod, the panel is just fine. I'm also going to get rid of the pipe from the filter box to the throttle body, and replace with a mandrel bent SS pipe. Should be a smoother airflow yet again. (Get rid of the ridges on the corners, and the little air muffler box). I just got to get around to getting to an exhaust shop.
