CCG TenPin Bowling

Well after an excellent day at Wakefield Park, we are now planning a slightly less physical and somewhat slower event with a warm casual afternoon of Ten Pin Bowling. (Note to Mitch: This means you are trying to hit Ten Pins in one go!).
For those looking for a relaxing afternoon, here is the deal:
Date: Sunday 12 Sept 04
Time: 3pm (please arrive by 2.45pm to allow for shoe hire/teams etc.)
Where: Belconnen TenPin Bowling Centre (Opposite Lake Ginninderra College)
Cost: Only $15 per person. Includes 3 games and shoe hire!
Please note we need to have firm bookings WITH PAYMENT. There are no ‘ifs or buts’ about it as the AMF Bowling management require all monies up front for the booking. Basically they will only book the lanes we have payment for.
Therefore, money is payable to me, by Monday 6 September 04 so I can provide final numbers to Management.
If you have any questions about this event do not hesitate to contact me on 0412 699 144 AH. It is easier if you call me rather than putting up questions by email or the forums.
Hope to see a big turn up for this one.

Well the enquiried are coming in so get your booking and money to Phil as soon as you can. The sooner we get an indication of numbers the sooner we can book out the lanes required.
Dont forget that its just an informal meet so all newcomers are welcome to come along and meet the CCG!
Cheers
Mitch

I am just having my secretary organise my diary and then I will get back to you guys, but it should be a goer (i.e. I have to make sure I have not planned something with the GF).
Isn't Phil E. a Pro League Bowler?? (hints that we all might be made to look like fools). I only average 220 a game
I might bumpa-bowl and use one of those ramp things that wheel-chair bowlers use too.
I can remember when there was an ad on TV and it advertised "For $5.50 you get 2 games, shoe hire, hot dog, fries and a coke!!!" Aahhh the good old days........ that was back when petrol was 50 cents a litre...and paddle pops were bigger....and "scalliwag biscuits" were called "golliwog biscuits"...
Perhaps Phil E or Mitch could tell us about back in the day when it was 2 shillings for a days worth of bowling and the lanes were made of concrete and the bowling balls were coconuts Just kidding guys.
Will book myself in soon.

hey I used to bowl in a competition, we were bored, we turned out to be good, and were raining champs 2 years straight, but then I got a life and gave up
ahh the good old days of 50c a litre fuel
its just a bummer I can no longer make ccg events, ohh well may be for the best as I won't have a celica for much longer, so I can't really be in your little club anyways

No, I was serious, I thought I remembered Phil E once saying that he bowled (hence I made the assumption he might be good at it). No disrespect to the bowling folk intended.
I don't know if you have noticed Joel, but I don't own a Celica either and they let me turn up. I am sure that they will still welcome you even though you are getting a mazda 121 bubble car with fun-top (convertible) and fitting out the interior with fake cow seat covers (please just dont park the bubble beast near us) .
Later.

Shane,
With you bowling 220 per game, I will get you to give me some lessons. Might be able to boost my average up from 125 per game.

220
Thats the score if you add my score to everyone elses who bowls in my lane and times it by 2. I will be lucky to crack a 50 in reality!!
We are "Bumpa Bowling" aren't we?
I can give bowling lessons though: $40/hour
Oh and on another note, another Canberra car club (Syndicate) is holding a Dyno Day this Saturday the 28th at Auto Tech in Fyshwick starting at 10:30am.
I have the Green Beast entered to R3pr3zentah! ( = represent) the CCG. Pop out and have a look if anyone is keen (should be some high powered cars there).
Cheers,
Shane.

You can count me in, and I'm hopefully trying to get the girlfriend to come along too. Actually she usually beats me at bowling so maybe I shouldn't...
Hmmm she beats me at most things... I'm such a wet blanket

No there was no pressure, none that I can't handle anyway (I am rated to a max pressure of 100psi )
I just decided not to turn this into a thread of lies (lies make baby Jesus cry ). I thought everyone would have guessed that I was kidding anyhow
