TMIC with fan or front mount?

I'm trying to decide whether i want to stick a 10" fan on my TMIC on my st162 with JDM gen II 3sgte, or stick a nice front mount on. Can someone help me.
Like how much should a decent front mount cost, as well as installation costs (pipes etc.)?
I figure i can get the TMIC set up with a fan for around $50.
I'm guessing a front mount including installation will be ~$600 and that might be a bit optimistic.
I just wanna see what other people think i should do.
Also keep in mind im a uni student so i dont have barrels of money to spend.

My custom FMIC on my GZE sprinter is costing me $1200 fitted, thats with polished piping,
There's a starting point for you, other people may get them cheaper,
Oh, the size is 650x300x75 from memory
Cheers,
Michael

front mount is the way to go between those 2 choices
even with the fan heatsoak is still a major problem
piping is the major prob with 3sgte's in celicas
as you can end up with pipes going every direction ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif)
a mate (3t-Ra40) and myself spent a bit of time on my
st185 making a FMIC fit keeping pipework to a minimum
and price down
if your in newcastle if you want to have a look
at how its set up PM me

I agree, the front mount is the way to go, You can buy my old cooler if you want as I am looking to upgrade as soon as my new motor goes in...

finding a complete water to air setup for a gt4 can be
a long and painful experience - just ask classique71
FMIC certainly makes a difference on a gt4 over a TMIC
but it all comes down to $$$

Whilst not with personal experience, the answer is dependent on your budget. If you have over $1k spare, go FM, if not, stay TM and use a fan, plus put a bit of effort into some heatshielding to slow down the heatsaok and live with it until you have the dosh to go FM

Thanks for the info guys, i'll have to think about it some more.
Hey 1gt48u, how much did it cost you all up to convert your car?
It's an air/air IC, so i might have to look into water/air.
Cheers guys.

cycleofabuse,
it ended up costing me around $950.00 total fitted
which included intercooler, pipework, silicon hose etc
labour was the biggest saving - if you do most of the set
up work yourself you'll save

I've decided to stick with the TMIC coz i really can't afford to be throwing that much money around right now. One day hopefully i'll be loaded and get a huge front mount.
Thanks for the help guys

troy = would you be kind enough to fire some pics of your setup my way plz - need ideas ( desperate ) on how the piping should go - and how others have done it ..
I do plan to do most of the work myself - and get assistance with the welding of pipes side of things ..
and yes W to A is VERY painful , time consuming and in the end frustrating as all hell ..
gro frontmount - Leave W to A's to eb factory fitted
