I'd imagine they would be. The front brakes and stuff are the same, I think they should be the same.

ok...
seeing as no-one knows...
what are the major issue with struts which could possibly interfer with interchangability?? if they bolt on and the wheel sticks out straight, are there any other issues???
cheers

Mate, you should check out my thread about Differences between RA60 & RA65 struts.
Nark and Celicamad85 seem to think that they are one and the same item. And the MA60/61 supra struts are identical also.

MA61 and cressida brakes are different! Everyone seems to think they are the same but they are not. Disc surface areas and pad sizes are smaller on the cressida.
I played around with this stuff when i upgraded the suspension on my first supra, i may be wrong but i do vaguely remember the spring thicknesses being about 2mm different. Which is a fair bit.

It sounds like you're going to have to grab your tape measure and go to the wreckers. I really hope it's an easy swap!

ok,
to clarify, i dont care about the brakes, springs, hub sizes, spindle dia etc etc etc... its ALL going to be modified! i just need to know if the thing will physically bolt in to an ma61 without sending the wheel off in weired directions !?!
they seeem pretty similar... but i dont know what "hidden" issues lie in stut desgn that im not considering.

I think the main thing to consider is the angle between the spindle and the strut tube, which I think is called the kingpin angle. If this is different, you're going to have all sorts of dramas with wheel alignment! I ran into this problem when I put MA61 struts in my RA23 - it all bolted in perfectly, but the wheels had positive camber.
Not sure how you'd go about measuring this at a wrecking yard though....

so does that angle primarily effect camber, or does it also make the toe in / out vary as well??
cant you just adjust your steering tie rods to account for toe in / out ??
camber, well that would be a shit. uless it was like 5deg + perhaps

Nah it just affects camber; toe can be adjusted by the steering arms.

Obviously you dudes will need to measure lower control arm length. Std mod for RA40 to get more camber is MX62 arms - they're a bit longer.
