Does anyone know what happened to the AE86 Sprinters that raced at Bathurst in early 90's (I think..). One hit a wall and rolled on its side but I was just curious where the others are now. Would be nice in my shed

Your exactly right, it's right next to the main entrance to the museum,
I've got the bathurst where that sprinter rolls on DVD, it's a pretty big hit, even makes the door glass fall out but it doesn't break it just sits on the ground next to the car,
Cheers,

What engine did they have in them. I have foottage of the 84 race with a hatch stuck at the start line after the pile up which halted the start and in the 85 race there is a sedan.

One of the hatch back cars is in Victoria undergoing full restoration back to Group A specs . I think it was power by a 185hp rwd 4age engine originally .

for a car that featured at bathurst and that was built by bob holden you would of thought toyota would realise some more 'race-breed' ones (IE with 4age and lsd)

They should either clean it and look after it or give it to me.

Why would they put it in a museum if they wern't going to preserve it & look after it, seems like such a waste,
I wonder if the engine still runs, probably been sitting there stationary for a while now,

ok, just adding to the discussion, all though its probably irrelevant.
thru some research on a related topic i found these Bathurst facts,
- 28 sprinters entered(Group A AE86 hatch) from 1984-1993
- 10 DNF's
- 3 class wins ('87,'90 and '91)
- highest overall position - 12th 1991 (Full/Morris)
- highest overall qual position - 38th 1993 (Conway/Gardner)
this is not counting the coupes such as the Pice/Smith TTA cars.
