ae92 silvertop 20v out of action. Busted relay/fuse ? plz help

Hey guys,
I dont know if any of ya's remember but i had a lengthy thread going in here that probably started about a year ago about putting a silvertop 20valve 4age into my ae92 sx seca. Well everything went pretty well all in all, it's been running for quite a while until a hickup yesterday.
Car made a whining/squeeling noise while driving, pulled over. Found out that my starter motor runs when the key is in the "on" position, and when you go to hit the ignition, the starter motor stops ? Like something is happening back to front. I dont know if there is a fuse gone, or a relay died ? I can't see anything out of the ordinary .
Hopefully grant from sixworks is still out there, he did a fair chunk of the wiring, i did the other bit myself. Where are ya grant? . Anyone know what i can check ? The circuit opening relay no longer seems to click over with the key at all, the relay itself works fine...
Any wiring-gurus ever hear of a problem like this ?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Mat. (seeks).

Sorry Matt, didn't see your thread before.
I suspect you have a faulty starter motor solenoid. Swap your starter motor with a good and see if that fixes the problem. I thnk it should. If not, give me a call and we'll see if we can work through it over the phone.

Gday Grant,
Thanks for your reply. To me the problem didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it turned out that an earth wire had burnt out and snapped.
I think it went something like this,
Battery brace became a bit loose, battery shifted pulling out an earth at the front.. This put too much pressure on a smaller earth in the engine bay which burnt and snapped. Did a little bit of re-wiring today and Brendon from premiere exhuast made a battery brace that fit better (love his work, that battery aint moving ever again!).
I'm a huge fan of this 20v engine, it rocks! (but i am sick to death of hearing "why did u put that in, 4agze are waaaay better", different horses for different courses I reckon).
Thanks again,
Mat.

Specially since it's my old car.

Gday Bale,
I got your emails, not sure which one was the last though, maybe it went missing in action.
As Jase said, the car is going really well.
How have you been ? Did you get your car finished? I'm not sure if it's related to you but Brendon from premiere exhaust said he gave someone my mobile number to ask some 20 valve questions, he mentioned Bale so i thought it must be you straight away, but he was describing someone who'd just started putting one into an ae82 i think? shrug, sounds like a breakdown in communication. Anyway they never called.
Catcha,
Seeks.

Yeah mine is going ok, my A/C compressor $hit it self and i'm trying to find a 20v A/C compressor.??? Have you got yours still??? or is yours in the car????????
Other than that its still going, i've just been trying to sort out the A/C wiring still.... Its getting to close to summer and i don't have AC. when i had my exhaust done it was at Argy Tyres, all they did was from the cat to the origanl pipe work. i haven't got the cash to get the whole system done.. i haven't been cruising town much but now that summer is coming i'll be in more often... hopefully i'll see you in there, i still haen't seen your car...
Bale
P.S. if you know anyone with a A/C compressor, let me know thanks.....
