well the tank in their would havde to go, new fuel lines made for the new position, rubber hoses to go to new tank & then the tank itsself would need to be made
so you might need a drop tank made, determine what you want done with spare as well

basically the passenger side of the boot is the same size as the driver side and thats where the spare goes. and where the spare is in our cars is where the fuel tank is... the filler is between the tail lights (it flips down/up and thats where the filler neck is...

the main thing is geting the drop made... once thats done then yeah its all fiddly stuff really... if your gonna get a drop made then i would suggest to get it done right with full internals... pump and surge
if you know how to weld, then you can cust the spare and weld the drop in yourself... i would rather to bolt the drop tank in myself (cut spare out, weld a plate under car and bolt drop to it), just for easy removal in furutre...

The most expedient alternative would probably be to cut the floor out of the boot between the rear rails. You could fold up a new tank and bolt it onto the rails, which will be strong enough to hold it (the boot floor sheet metal mightn't). But the flanges on the tank which you bolt through will have to be strong too, enough to support ~75kg all day with road bump shock and vibration etc.
I think that the tank should be engineered and it has been suggested that the tank should be designed to incorporate crumpe zones to prevent rupture in an accident (vital given your tank location.)
The early model rear lights/filler/bumper won't bolt to your car.
The filler could be redirected to the tank from the rear quarter panel but it'll encroach on your subwoofer enclosure design. The rear filler design would anyway as it protrutdes ~20cm forward of the inside surface of the rear light housings.
What size (L) is your enclosure?

i wsa gong to mention to bolt it to the rails but i was reading something from the RTA in NSW bout bolting to rails. forgot what and where so i didnt say to bilt there cause wasnt sure bout it.
but even if he welds a plate under the car nest to the rails of whatever thickness hould be strong enough to hold so long as the pieces welded are done right.
also YES you need engineers for several reasons, crumple zones being the main, ewhoch is why i said get to done professionaly
but the small stuff should be right

definately... you would need the whole boot area of a 72 '22... now first find one and then the cost to cut whats in there out and put the one you got in = $Ks

Look at some other options, for fuel tanks, maybe a 1970's Crown tank would suffice. They fill from the rear. Probably larger capacity, and from memory, they are strapped to the underside of the car. Just my 2cents worth.
