hey all, my bro brought a mint condition 1977 toyota corolla ke35 today (picking it up morrow) with a genuine 129k on it with pensioner rego, and he said he also had a 1978 celica (ra28)with a 18r and he said he'd just had the head done, we b rought the ke35 for $1400 and he wants $200 for the ra28 ill have a look at the celica and get back to you morrow
he also said that an 18r will fit in a ke35 no probs is this true?
any help appreciated

Hi Trent, the RA28 Celica ceased production in late 1977, so best to check the VIN plate on the firewall to see whether it is an RA28, or a RA40. VIN plate will give you exact build date and model. 18R into a KE35 will be a huge ask! It is not something that I would consider doing. A 2T or 3T would be a much easier proposition.

thanks chuck, yeah i was wondering wether it would be an ra40 but did they come out with 18r's or 22r's?
ill have a look at the firewall tomorrow and get back to you

A 2T-G goes well in a KE35. I just had mine on the race track yesterday
A 4A-GE would be even better, but the 2T-G is classic for that car.
