Air/Fuel Ratio gauge

I am looking at buying on of these for my car just wondering if they are accurate and usefull in anyway, and would i need one in my situation, i have a 2tg with aftermarket ecu (microtech)

p.s. and could i just get a sensor from the wreckors and get it welded into my exhaust.

A waste of time really. If you like flashing lights in your cabin, go for it, but you can't get much useful info from them.
Conventional narrow-band EGO sensors tell you if you're above or below stoichiometric, and that's about it. Useful if you're trimming the cruise mixtures in real-time for maximum fuel economy, pretty useless otherwise.

Would the wreckers have these "Conventional narrow-band EGO sensors" And is there a gauge at the other end what is telling you if you are above or below, Im interested what cars are these i have never seen one stock.

shuold be quite easy to find, very very common on modern cars.
and no there is no "gauge what tells you if you are above or below."

Repco at blacktown way was selling these as a gauge look quiet good. As far as usefullness I had one made up from jaycar (kit type, all it did was make me look at it and question my tuning each time. Not only that you tend to back off on acceleration each time it goes into the red.Don't bother with it.
