Greetings from northern hemisphere.
I thought I'd pass on a video of one domestic motoring activity - driving on a frozen lake just for fun.

Doesn't this just make you lot just value your climate more?

Note - win2000, ME and such are able to display this video, win98 & win95 need winplayer update.

Hey thats awesome... I'd swap the warm weather for a little while anyday for a chance to do some of that...

Any chance of actually going through the ice into the lake?

No chance of punching through. That danger will appear later when spring starts to come in. First you get noticeable amount of sheer water 'n' slush on top of solid ice, maybe like 15cm of that stuff. Common sense will say ice beneath is gradually giving in, molecyle structure is weaker.

Also, there is little sense getting onto ice as winter starts to come in, and only thin layer of solid ice has formed over the lake.

People who are into this just know when it's okay and when it's dodgy.

Hey 5HinKP60 is it true that you have to learn how to drive in icy conditions to get your driving licence over in Finland? I'm quite sure that my cousin in Sweden said that he did driving lessons on ice or something like that.

Yes, thesedays driving licence is divided into two phases, driving under summer and winter conditions. Only after that you get to keep the licence.
One can of course drive the car on the roads with 'summer test'-licence, before winter test has been passed. Anyways during the first year both tests need to be passed succesfully.
This practise has been around about 5 years or so.

'Right' click it, and do a 'save as'. That way you'll be able to view it in one go, rather than wait for buffering.
