1: Remove complete hub with rotor from the car, after removing the brake calliper and steering and suspension ball joints from the hub.
2: Support the hub up off your work surface (I find working on the ground easier as you can apply more force through the hammer this way, than on a bench), and make sure you're not resting on the broake rotor - this will move with the hub as you push the back bearing off.
3: find a suitable sized socket to sit around the back of the back bearing, and protect with wood, while you hit it, slowly moving the hub and rotor in one from the back bearing. Once removed, you can undo the rotor bolts to gain acces to the front bearing if you also want to remove that, but the hub will be free of the brake rotor and hub body if thats all you want.
4: If doing wheel bearings, you can remove the front bearing with a cold chisel, destroying it in the process!

hey clint thanks buddy!
finally got it off...
went down to repco, got a bigger and better breaker, + a new 30mm socket and a nice big long pipe
mwah.. therby voiding any warranty I had on the part
but I have it off finally!
I used a pry bar between the studs and resting on the ground and took it off while control arm/steering/strut were still assembled
was a very nasty and hard job
bent my sidchrome breaker quite badly
