Legalities of Fuel Lines/Filter placement

I am having to move my fuel filter due to that fact that it is now sitting less than an inch from the extractors, and the last thing I want is a melted fuel line and engine bay fire.
So I moving it to the place that you see in the photos.
Are there any legal reasons why I cant put it there?
Obviously it will need a stone shield covering both the filter and the lines.
Just FYI, Toyota run the fuel filters for this motor at the rear of the car as there is no room in the engine bay.
Cheers

The location of the fuel filter shouldn't be a problem, but do something about those holes you drilled in the inner guard... use proper rubber grommets or you'll wear a hole in your fuel lines!

I think I have some of that printed out somewhere.
Its something like 10cm to plastic
7cm to rubber
3cm to metal
But if you are at the cruise on sunday Mitch, bring it.
Thanks.

Yes mate, you have it in one, and those figures are for a muffler to fuel tank, there are some others as well.
Would love to bring it for the cruise, but I am carless at the moment.
Maybe next time.....just like JCMF
Mitch.

Anyone else got an opinion before I go and get the lines lengthened tomorrow morning?

being that close to the wheel - you might want a more substantial shield (e.g. metal not plastic) between filter and wheel in case something sharp gets picked up by the wheel and spat at the filter and thru the usual wheel-arch plastic trim at high speed. the lines will absorb a bigger hit being flexible, tho not if it's sharp.
you probably know this anyway ..
actually ... why not put the filter down at the tank? way out of harms way?

Make sure the line is secured the the wheel well with suitable p-clips.
Is it possible to make the lines on the inner guard metal ?
Cover the lines with some form of spirwrap or similar (may have mentioned/thought of it already).
Cheers

Yeah, everything under the guard will have a metal shield on it.
I just wanted to make sure that what I proposed wasnt Illegal and hence not pass the pits when she goes over in a few weeks.

My only opinions are:
1. Yes that was a shameless plug and
2. Its obvious but get your engineer on side with this before you go over the pits in case in becomes a sticking point. If its written up already in his report you are covered.
