The pulley for the supercharger is good.....
But the thing is that the pulley for the chager is not good because it degrades the life and the can do damage to the super charger.

what???? how does it make a difference? its just a different method of spinning it faster. do you know what your talking about or are you just repeating something you 'heard' from someone else? my s/c ran that pulley for 7 years with no troubles, someone else has the charger now and thay have no complaints with its condition.

well you thought wrong everyone has a different idea on what the maximum is, but there IS NO MAXIMUM. its just that as the speed of the s/c increases, so does the heat. heat will kill your s/c not boost. like i said, i ran 15psi no probs. some of that time was with the factory top mount also. obviously thats not the best idea ans maybe my case is different, but im just saying that dont believe everything you read on the interenet.

thanks....basically i'm looking for the best result from the stock engine, and i want the engine last a long period time, so what i mean is the safety limite rather than maximum

If you run big boost through the S/C it can melt it as it gets to hot, I been told anything more than 18psi is not good at all.
Also running a Top Mount intercooler is not a good idea as the Intake temps from the Intercooler are to hot and the Ignition timming retards itself.
If you run about 10 psi through a stock top mount that should be ok, but ideally a frontmount is the best setup. There are rumors that the Gen 3 spec gze's run 10 psi from the factory.
You will see a power difference on the dyno and when you drive the car with a bigger pulley probably and extra 10kw at the wheels.
The GZE engines are very strong and running abit more boost is not going to really any damage. Running a larger crank pulley is the easiest way of achieving this goal.

so it really come down to the pully on the s/c itself and the engine...
but its not the DIY job, or have you done it before in the backyard?

My GZE has a 175mm pulley on it, it achieves 14-15 psi, but i have limited to 11psi for now untill my frontmount comes.
The pulley runs sweet, i just need my front mount then im set, i am also getting an after market computer and getting crower cams as well...
I should get some nice results when im done.
All work on my car has done by my brother and i, and he is a Mechanic for Toyota...... We pulled 2 engines out and put one in in 2 day's.
I might puts some pics on Toymods when i have finished....

You dont have to pull the engine out to put a bigger crank pulley. If you put a bigger crank pulley you will need to put a smaller idel pulley.
As mentioned before i have both Crank and idel pulley and a belt for sale.
If you want to put a smaller pulley on the suoercharger the engine will need to come out and then supercharger will probably need to be removed from the engine.

If you bypass the ABV on the super charger you can achieve more boost because you will re map the vacuum hose to the manifold releasing the extra boost
If you have not done the by pass valve mod you will not achieve maximum boost. from an over sized pulley. Which is why im only on 11psi
If you want to know how to do it go to www.mr2sc.com

i was just thinking you had after market engine management to be running 15psi, hence no ABV. s/c does not need to be removed to remove pulley, but in a FWD or MR2 you might need to take out the motor cause ive never tried when in E-W configuration.
