20v ticking noise

Asides that abnormal diesel noise (what does cause that?) I hav e noticed at about 2500 rpm or more (and under acceleration) i have this ticking noise that likes to happen. does anyone know what this is or how to rid it?
also does anyone have a pic or breakdown diagram of the cam gear that is variable?

It's a bomb!
Get a socket extension, place it over the motor with your ear on the other end to work out where the ticking noise is coming from? You'll hear the ticking easier this way.

yes
my sprinter 4age did this. i fixed the manifold. it went away.
but my tappets are still fucked. ;(

tappets? in a 4age?
lol
as as for the timing belt being too far advanced, the 4age is a non interferance motor so no valves w2ould be contacting if thats what you were assuming.
check for leaks

thanks for the advice, i will keep all informed with the drama.
also does any one have the tourque settings for the tension of bolts for the brackets that hold in the inlet cam and the rocker cover bolts.
