Lesson Learnt: ST162 Thu, 26 August 2004 03:08 Go to next message
Was having a terrible Saturday last week, all kinds of shit going wrong.. went for a drive that nite (driving angry, bad idea) Turning into my home street (after having already done my drive hard stuff) decided I'd give it a hand brake drifto (had just started raining) misjudged the line, touched a smooth traffice island with the front right, one of those ones you can drive over if you want, pushed the car off line and gave the gutter some love with the left rear. Wasn't going that quick (45-50 tops) but still managed to wreck the No1 and 2 Suspension arms and the Stub axle (big mistake) suspension arms were ok to get from a wrecker, $85 and had them in the next day. The stub axle... what a huge pain in the ass (being a 4 stud Celica and not 5) ended up costing me $150 to get it freighted from Melbourne to Wodonga, will be here Saturday they tell me... so I can finally drive again! (Never had an accident til now, I'm 22 and enjoy cars but am usually pretty sensible)

So.. unless you have a ready supply of parts or dont mind getting lifts with ppl and not having your own wheels.. Don't drive angry... in the wet... and try to pull a bloody hand brake drift in a FWD car when the corner is clearly not big enough... lol

Ok I'm done =D

Smiley = Good to hear I'm not the only one, heh. The good news is the part arrived from Melbourne on Saturday (7:30 am though after a big party.. the missus was not impressed, lol) The car is mobile again =D
