2tg question..... possibly stupid Thu, 26 August 2004 03:10 Go to next message
just rounding up all the parts to drop my 2tg into my ta22, but there's just a few parts that i can't find in any catalogues due to most of them not recognising that the motor exists.

now, obviously the exhaust manifold gasket is the same as the 2t jobbie, but the intake gasket is different, not to mention a bit more crucial to the car running right.

since you are able to bolt a 3tgte intake manifold to a 2tg head can i safely assume that the gasket for 3tgte (which i can find) will do the job fine?

otherwise, i've had about 4 auto stores laugh when i've mentioned twin solexes, and the top gun leads to suit are also going to be a bit more effort.

Are you sure you can bolt a 3TGTE inlet minfold to a 2T/TG head, as I'm 90% sure you can't? The leads will prolly be easier to have a custom set made, with you supplying the plug ends.

go to your local toyota dealership.

pick up a 2tgeu head and inlet gaskets.

cheaper than aftermarket and genuine

i payed 50 for the headgasket and 14 for manifold gaskets each.

thats all for genuine toyota.

just make the gasket yourself out of gasket paper, its cheaper and works the same as genuine gasket.. can get it from almost any auto store, i got mine from supercheap, trace it out to the shape of the inlet manifold, cut and paste, piss easy..
