2TG wierd chain sound???

Ive just replaced the chain tensioner that goes in the head of my 2TG with another that i had pulled apart, cleaned, and put back together... it doesnt leak oil now which is good, but now im getting a wierd sound when i turn it over, its like a constant "grrrrrrrrrrrr" comming from the front of the timing cover, after 6-7mins of idling, it goes away, My first guess is the timing chain, maybe its abit loose and rubbing against the guides too much, but i had set the tensioner exactly the same as my old one which didnt make the noise at all and had no problems with apart from it leaking quite a bit of oil.. i dont really want to take off the timing cover and disturb the perfect seal but if i have no other choice i may do it tomorow, but if i can get any other suggestions on what else it could be that would be great..
thanks

did you fill the tensioner with oil as per the manual? They need to be pumped up with oil (dead easy) and then adjusted properly when installed.

yeah i bled the tensioner in some clean oil.. strange though, i dont want to take my car out and give it a caining yet just incase the chain may break n could do some serious damage. although when i pulled both tensioners apart i found that the one that was on my engine before, had a litle cap, spring and ball in it, where as the other one that is no my car now doesnt? is that the difference between the 2TG tensioner and possibly and 18RG one?
(18RG one being the one without the ball, spring and cap)
cheers.
