GZ10 Soarer With TT Conversion need wiring diagrams Thu, 19 September 2002 13:39 Go to next message
I recently bought an 81 GZ10 soarer that has been converted to a 1g-gte twin turbo. The problem is that the conversion is a big bodge job and its idles like s**t the sensors arent all connected and heaps of crap like that. Does anyone have a ecu wiring diagram for a 1g-gte (soarer with yellow ecu plugs) Also i have a spare 1g-gte from a supra with the green injectors, would it make any difference if i put them in instead of the yellow ones??? And finally how much boost can i run on this engine??? Stock is 7psi

Check the Tech Articles. There's one that describes the differences between the different generation 1G-GTEs.

Yeah, I'd spoken to my friend about him buying it when Ross first told me he was going to sell it.
I decided it was best if I talked him out of it because of all the little problems it had...
The car was originally a 1GEU...but then that was changed for a 1GGTE, then either that blew up...or not, I forget.
Anyways, his Dad decided to jump start a car and fried the computer...so it was in the shop for ages...then he'd had it back for a little while and then it died again!

How much of the little problems have you got sorted?

When he first had the car, it felt like a problem with fuel cut or something running only 7psi. Soon after (Thanks to some playing around with the AFM), think the motor either did a piston or a big end bearing.
He got a Jap Import motor and put that in and was away.
Then as Franky said, Dad jumpstarted, leads on wrong way round, fried it. Many months later he got it back.

Then not too long after it did a big end bearing, and I think thats when he decided to sell it for sure.

Yes lots of little problems.... but its a fixer upper Smile

yeah i paid $1350 for it, thought i was gettin a hell bargain, didnt realise it was so bodgy and how much stuff didnt actually work. But i dont regret it and im still having heaps of fun thrashin it. But i would like to get all the little probs with it sorted out. Yeah it still did that fuel cut thing but i sorted it out, but it idles like a pig, revs up and cuts out and misses and all kinds of stuff. Ive fixed the windows, fitted a blow off valve, hidden some of the dents, and i wound the boost up too 10psi for a day or so but the BOV was leakin and i didnt wanna kill it, so now its back to 7psi. The problem is that i dont know wots been done or bodged up before i bought it so im kinda fixin stuff thats been bodged to get it runnin and it gets real confusin. If you know a bit about the car i wouldnt mind have a talk with ya to try and sort out some of my probs, if your cool with that.

Matty...

Wild Supra, you said you needed wiring diagrams. For what motor? I have a 1G-GTE about to go into a MZ11 Soarer, and i wouldnt know where to start, not even sure if the Z2 1G-GTE wiring harness will work..
