I got a half-cut one that was an R (momo wheel, analouge dash, bilstein struts), and it was definately black all over, and not re-sprayed.

Might look black but it's a VERY dark green, green mica. It's what 98% of the TwinTurboR's were painted.

It was black. Black as the Ace of Spades! Black all over! I do know the difference between black and dark green mica.....so I guess it was in the 2% of R's that weren't dark green (although I do like that colour). I've probably got a photo somewhere of the engine bay showing the colour code..but I'm too lazy to find it!
The other conclusion could be that mine wasn't an R...but it had the bilsteins, no cruise, momo wheel, analogue dash etc.
