Custom all the way baby.
I think even the sump needs to be customised (it has needed modification on some models.)

it bolts straight in with custom made engine mounts hehe
i did it to my hilux
the factory 1uz auto bolted straight in
that is the only part that bolts up without mods

it seems that anyone doing UZ conversions ends up struggling with the sump. a guy here who has one in his volvo had to make up a new sump from scratch
UZ Hilux sounds good though. I bet it'd end up using less fuel than the crappy 22R-E, on the highway at least, and probably around town too

there is no problem with the sump if u buy one from castlemaine rod shop
all u need then is to fit a 2000 model sway bar to clear the sump and gbox
i used to get 380 kms with the 22r engine
now i get 350 with the v8
once i fit a 3.5 diff it should go better and be more fuel economical
