I have the chance to pick up a 3" Stainless Steel exhaust cheap, real cheap but it is off a GA70 Supra...
Will it fit on the GZ20?

Yes. engine/dump pipe may need to be changed if the enigine isnt the same in both cars, i.e 1G to 7M or 7M to 1G ect..

Yes and no.
GA70 is a shorter chassis to the GZ20.
It will bolt up to your existing downpipe/cat, however the exhaust will be too short and you will have to rig up a temporary hanger at the rear of the car and take it to your exhaust shop to have it lenghtened by a few inches as it bangs on the chassis and sits too low.
I did exactly this, pulled the 3" exhaust off my GA70 and bolted it onto my GZ20 then drove around for the weekend with it bottoming out everytime the springs compressed sending sparks out the back of the car (looked quite cool at 120kph at night when passing ppl ) Then took it into pit stop and paid $100 for them to replace the cat with a flanged section of pipe, angled and the correct length to have the exhaust sitting where it should.

If Loonie says he has done the exact thing that you are asking I would be believing him. He seems to know a lot of the details about it.

Loonie was on the money!
Cheers mate, hooked her up today and what do you know about 10cm too short, so I killed two birds with one stone, went down to the exhaust shop my mate owns and got me to make a 405 mm Race Pipe out of 2 3/4 inch stainless steel pipe!\
No more cat!
