I would say that it is real I have seen photos of them before just like that! They have rubber bump stops on the chassis rails that sit on the ground when it is lowered!

I can understand wanting to be low but when you get to the point of cutting the sills of your ute you may be going a little too far.
The last few inches of drop for these vehicles come from channeling (body dropping) the body over the chassis so that the sills become the lowest point of the vehicle, and obviously these guys took it one step further......would need to be a midget to fit in it though.

a sight like that is quite normal at united states car shows. pick up minitruckin' magazine from your local newsagent for a bucketload of utes (yanks call 'em "minitrucks") that have all had the same mods done to 'em.
Alot of these minitrucks have airbags built into their shocks (like lowriders) that enable the car to be raised and lowered. Several air compressors provide pressure to fill the airbags, and the latest trend is to use the actual chassis' hollow insides as a compressed air tank!
Most of those trucks have awesome paint jobs, and <humungous> stereos too.

Sorry to rain on your parade guys..... I have never used photoshop, so don't know what too look for on fakes, but want your opinion on my opinon!!
That thing is for real, and is not drivable, so forget about the airbag theory..... how do I know this?????
Look at the poistion of the engine "sitting way too high".... then look through the windscreen and look at the gear stick and boot just about to hit the windscreen from the inside....am I right to say that the tranny is prettymuch PUCNCHED through the firewall?? not drivable!!!!
Unless you have the driveshaft twirling beside your ear in the drivers seat and goes through the back of the cabin at an angle which would require a hole in the tray to go through to the diff!
Am I right or am I wrong?
Cheers,
Adrian!

You are mostly right! But those "trucks" like that are very drivable! The chassis itself is not really that low!
The trend is to fit air bags beside the shocks and also between the chassis and the body! This is so they can lower the chassis to the ground and then lower the body to the ground more!
Just do a search for minitrucks and you'll get all the info you need!
Oh and you would be correct in saying that they are not stree legal like that!

I don't think this car is meant to be serious, I think it's a bit of a piss take. Like putting a V8 in a mini.......

Unfortunately this is not a piss take, these guys do actually drive these vehicles. It is all about beating the next guy, biggest wheels, most horsepower, lowest. A bit like 700hp in your street car, never going to be practical but some guys still do it just to be the best.
By the way, I resent the mini comment. Used to be one local to me and the guy drove it to work every day. Said it was quite good on fuel but made it hard to fit passengers in....built it because he always wanted a V8 but only had a small garage.

There is no way anyone is driving that car, if it was a mine is better than yours thing, don't you think the car would be of slightly better quality? None of the panels line up properly, the front wheels are sticking up above the guards..... where are the struts?
Why do you resent the mini comment? Do you seriously think the guy that lives near you sat down and thought, "yes, a V8 will be the most practicle motor for my mini..."
Or would he have thought, "shit yeah, I'll chuck a V8 in her, that'll spin everyone out! "
BTW, I put up the same photo (along with another one from a different angle) months ago, I've been over this before.

What I would like to know is How the F*$% do you get a jack under the car if you need to change a tyre?
Also, why do you spend so much money on aftermarket wheels when you can only see the bottom 3 inches of them.... its obviously not for their handling characteristics as they have been thrown out the window long ago!

Yes but imagine if the dude had 14's on there... then you'd only be able to see the bottom 1.5 inches

I don't think they spent that much on wheels, the 2 on the near side don't match.
And who needs to change tyres when the thing doesn't get driven....

Relax Bigworm, I wasn't being serious about the mini comment.
The guy who built it just threw together what he had in his shed. It started off looking quite standard, although he put flares, side skirts and mags on later but didn't make it obvious it had a V8.
Would any of us build modified cars if we wanted the most practical transport we could get? Is a 4A-GE Celica the most practical car to have or should we all drive 1.3L Honda Civic's?
My everyday driver is a 1948 Ford Popular running a 2L and auto from a MkV Cortina, not all that practical but does the job, turns heads and is a hell of a lot of FUN.
As with all things we should build what keeps our interest, but I think chopping the bottom off your mini-truck is taking it a little far....

I reckon that's nuts!!!
The wheel on the rear looks like a stocker so maybe it's there for burnout purposes...

erm.. somehow i think that is just a total waste. someone has put a lot of thought power into that peice of crap... they couldve been coming up with something that actually helps their social acceptance, not makes them look like a complete retard.
im also looking for the flaps in the roof where they stick their head out...
