Ive got that exact size on mine, ended up with Sava Intensa's which were about $120 a corner. Havent had any gripes with them so far and seem like they are really slow wearing because Ive done 7000kms and the tread still looks brand new.

If you think Sava Intensa's are good you don't drive very hard. If you want something more sporty/ stiff/ hardwearing, go for Potenza RE711 or similar. I think the G grids or Grid III cover that market now.
Sava Intensa is a normal tyre, I had them. I have RE711 now, much better as they have a stiffer sidewall actualy designed for hard use, more robust tread pattern.

Can't remember plus I got them second hand. I am told you can't get RE711's anymore, and you are to buy G grids or Grid III's or some equivalent.
Another good tyre people talk about is Yokahama A539? I think thats it. The old model was A509 I think.
Many new tyres shops will have second hand tyres out the back if you ask. Second hand can be good value if you get the right tyres.
But if you just put around town, it doesn't matter. Get cheap tyres. But one day at the race track will ruin cheap tyres fast. RE711's will take several days at the racetrack.

i use
yoko A539 on the front (185 55 14) $165 each
and
potenza g3 on the back (185 60 14) $115 each
both good tires for wear and grip (wet and dry, especially the yokos)
although the A539's seem to be getting squishy with age
but they are stretched to all shithouse over my 7" rims
yokos have withstood a few good touge runs and a trackday and still good, they do heat up quick on track and understeer to shit

i dnt know much about tyres at all but i previously had potenza on all for wheels and they griped like all buggary and they were stretched on and looked sweet but they eventully wore away, so i got a set of second hand crap brand ones that spin really easy which i kinda like and i got ones the same sixe and everything but look crap cos there nt stretched on, do u have to ask for them to be stretched on or is it just the tyre that i choose???.
sorry for taking your thread but its just easyer then starting a new one

goodyear eagle f1's (205/50/15's on 15x7's)... i've seen a few other people running these tyres on ae86's. they rock, they win most of the comparisons in motoring magazines as well.
they still surprise me with their grip, even though they only have about 20% tread left. early this morning at 1am coming home up a mountain road i was being lazy and took a corner way too hot, and on the way out i acutally said out loud "how the hell did they stick?".
but sorry, don't really know prices... i guess they would be comparable with the rest here.

In desperation I bought some Michelin something-or-others (XM1??) I dunno..... Anyways, they are ugly as all hell, but they are the GRIPPIEST tyres I've ever had. Even in the wet last night, re-clutching in 3rd (which would normally result in serious spinnage with the previous 195/50/15's) they just would not break traction..... And they are only 175/60/14's.
Crazy shit...... Good for Wakefield, but ghey wif teh AIDS for any sort of fun
They were on special for $129 each.
