currently have a power color 9700 pro and am going to upgrade to a x800 xt. anyway my friend wants to buy this card off me and was wondering how much can i get for it?
Powercolor 9800 Pro for around $350 these days, and you are probably only getting a 10% increase over a 9700 Pro. However being that they are an older card I wouldn't be looking for anything more than around $250.
cool thanks. i have an offer from some guy for $200 maybe more if i demo it. the only problem with computer stuff is that i paid about $520 for it about a year ago (when the 9800 pro's were about $700 - $800) and now it's only worth half that. anyway that means i'll be able to pick up a x800xt for about another $650 but i'm not sure if i should wait til next year when the new ati chip comes out.
Yeah pricing does suck but theres not much you can do about it. I'd only really upgrade from the 9700 Pro if you really needed it. It should be able to handle anything out now really well, especially when Half-Life 2 comes out it will run it really well. The 9700's are still an awesome card, hell I'm only running a 9500 Pro at the moment and it plays everything I throw at it. Sure I'm not playing Doom 3 at super high resolutions but hey do I really need to.
yeah i see your point. i might hang on to this card and either get one when the prices are cheaper or when this card can't handle games at a half decent resolution anymore. but yeah it's still not too bad however with some games i have to turn off anti aliasing which is annoying coz i hate the jagged edges.
