Internal or external? Wed, 01 September 2004 09:45 Go to next message
Ok its about time to start building my fuel new tank and I'm thinking about what type of pump to use.
The current idea is to have the main fuel tank with a surge tank built in, then outside the main tank will be a lift pump to fill the surge tank. The idea then is to have an internal pump fitted in the surge tank which pumps the fuel to the engine.
Hows this sound? Anyone have any thoughts on this idea?
Pros and cons of internal and external pumps?

i reckon it would be cheaper and easier to go with external pump AND surge tank, but if you want the surge tank in the fuel tank (which is what i can gather) id go with internal pump just to make it that much neater. its not like youd betaking it out all that often.
