Hello there,
I have a query for some gurus out there.
I have an ST162 Celica and i would like to replace the seats in it, to some comfy sportier seats.
Now here is where it gets interesting,
I have access to many many bucket seats, all at mates rates HOWEVER, they are only from Nissans, Mazdas, Mitzo's etc.. No Toyotas.
Is there a particular model of Japanese car that is NOT an ST165/85/205 or Supra/Soarer (or toyota of any sort) that will have seats that can fit into this car with little or no modification? - Some Modification is OK, but i dont want to go nuts, else i may as well forgo the mates rates and get some GT4 seats!
If not, then thanks for thinking about it anyway.
Cheers.

Only way to really know is to go and pick a few different seats you like, take out one of your seats, sit the 'new' seat in there, and see how close it comes. At a rough guess, most Nissan ones might be a bit high??

What about the optional sports seats that some Oz spec ST162's had?

yes they are almost exactly the same as the MA70 seats
6-way adjustable and very similar to the GT4 ones.. if not the same
and very nice
they came standard on the "White Lightenings" hard to find a 162 with them in these days

its not that hard to get aftermarket seats into an ST162. Get some spare mounting brackets(so ur not cutting up ur seats), grind/cut off the bits you don't want, weld on some brackets that will fit to the seatand bolt the seat in. Thats what i am doing atm. I don't have a welder or the know how so i'm getting a mate to help me with that bit.
