removing fwd 4age oil filter Thu, 02 September 2004 06:11 Go to next message
Can some fwd 4age owners help me out here. I can feel the oil filter with my fingers but cant really reach it with my palm. How do i get to the oil filter? Go under the car or frm top? If under, where do i exactly fit my hand through so i can get a good grip of the filter? right now, theres no way i can use a wrench to open it coz it has an awkward angle...

Help me pls somebody out there!!!

if you cant get it with your hand buy an oil filter wrench. if you cant wait that long use a screw driver.

wrench wont fit in, not enough space to pull screw driver far back enough to poke it, definately no space to hammer a screw driver in...Thought of many things, just didnt work.

now i get it but WST - 004 would be kinda difficult to fit in on fwd mate. Cant pull it back far enough to make a hole. Maybe u can recomend a COMBINATION of WST tools that would do the job..

You've removed the plastic splash guards already?

once the car is up on ramps/stands it's easy to reach up twist it. When that fails the screwdriver does work, just need to get the angle right Smile
