ok bought my new car and it has pinstripes down the sides, well only one side. if both sides where there id leave it but one side is mostly gone so i wanna remove the rest. the stripe on the side is actually made up of six thin stripes with writing in the middle of the door. if tried pickiing it off, soappy water, eucalyptus oil, nothing works. best so far was hair drier for ages then scrathing it off with my figner which still took aggeeees cause it sorta crumbles off. does any one know the trick to getting it off? theres so much it will take me forever... and then to get the glue off argh!

Try sharpening a peice of perspex to a 25-30 degree point, it shouldnt scratch the paint(depends on the condition of your paint here)it wont remove the glue, so turps might remove it
enjoy....

try using wax and grease remover, coat it in as much as possible, wont hurt the paint only side effect is you will have to re wax it,
don't get mixed up between wax and grease remover and degreaser, don't use degreaser

The easiest and best way is to use a heat gun and gently heat the sticker till it gets a bit soft and just peel it off carefully heating it as you go, this way it leaves no glue and definately no scratches! just be carefull not to heat one spot for too long or get the gun too close to the paint, it doesent have to be hot to get the sticker off just warm

gday i happen to work in a sign shop so i work with stickers a fair bit, the easiest way is to use mineral turpentine on a rag after the car has been sitting in the sun for a few hours, if the glue is still too hard use more elbow grease
we dont use anything but methylated spirits at work or mineral turpentine which is a bit more 'hard core' sometimes it eats acrlyic though !

yeah the hairdrier helped, but it was still damn hard to do. i might have to try either wax and grease remover or mineral turps. hopefully one of these will make it easy to come off. cause theres just SO MUCH sticker to get rid of!
where can i get these from? the only things i have access to at work is white spirits (sometimes) and degreaser.

Hi,
When I removed the pistriping from my car I found a citrus clean product called "remove-it" was great at getting rid of the sticky residue. Spray it on and leave it for a few minutes and just wipe it all off. Easy as!

do not use nail polish remover as suggest. follow the others suggestion to use wax and grease remover. this stuff doesnt damage your paint. it will also come in handy later on to remove other things like tar of ur boot wells and sill panels where they tend to build up
