need some help! 7m gte Fri, 03 September 2004 01:46 Go to next message
hey !

im just in the process of getting my 7m gte!, yes another victim of the head torque diease. doing a headgasket at a performace workshop, doing all the head stuff at the same place, saves money
the heads off there.. put it back together today,
its costing me a total of around $1000, because i got all the parts myself, racing gaskets and arp bolts.
f*ck those hoses are a bitch to find!

::: did the 7M GTE and the 7M GE share the same vacaum hose layout??

::: What torque is recommend? 75 ib/torque or something right??? instead of the factory torque of 52 ?
i need to know.. the mechanic needs to know! today!

PLUS! .. im thinking about getting this mz20 soarer lowered.. they use the same as the mk3 supra, haven't the cash for the coil-over adjustable type at the moment. just a good set of springs.. are all mk3 supra springs tems compatable? what makes them compatable

72-75 is the correct torque setting. 55-58 was factory

Mine has been done at 73, and hadnt let go at all yet. i Will re-torque it sometime in the next few thousand kms tho. I used std toyota bolts.

Dont know about vaccumn hoses sorry. Can you tell me which ones you are referring to?

Arp make bolts for 7ms? Well there ya go!

arp bolts.

Torque them to their instructions. Other specs are for the factory bolts only.

I got a quote for a couple, but am making some up using other hoses that will do the job as well. Often don't need 'genuine parts Smile GMH ones sometimes will do !!!!

nah these hoses had a sh*t load of bends in them.
the main air hose off the head cover cost $75 bucks
only a foot long hose! Mad
but the rest. pretty damn cheap.. genuine toyota parts don't cost a packet!

if u need parts for your toyota go see Alf at sci-fleet toyota parts at kedron, brisbane.. dah
he's just brillant, knows a ton a sh*t!
