changing VR in ra40 need a electrical schematic Fri, 03 September 2004 08:22 Go to next message
greetz all.
recently blew a voltage regulator Rolling Eyes in my ra40 and am wanting to change it over for a standard regulator......
the original regulator has the six pin oval shape plug (not common)
and have bought the more comman six pin rectangle plug regulator.
problem I have is both workshop manuals I have dont have the
australian electrical schematics (for external regulators), both manuals (by haynes) have internal regs which isnt much help

so i need to which wire is N/S, field, ground, etc.

does any one have aussie schematics with colour codes? (external regulators)
any help appreciated
tia

i recently did this in my ta23...if u undo the tape from the wiring you will see the 3 wires going from the alternator to the regulator..u can remove the easily...in the end u should have 3 wires. ONe is the fat one. one is the light in the dash. nd one is a power wire. the fat one going to the bolt on the alternator and you just need to sort out which way the other go on the alternator plug
