Haven't got around to that part yet! I guess the vent thing in the rear quarter panel is the most logical place.

Pretty neat. Its good that I can put your voice to the comments
I always thought there needed to be more than one wire to the engine bay.
1. + Starter motor
2. + Everything else
3. - Enging block
I'm guessing yours works well though? I havn't done it, and with all my other wiring jobs on my car (read birdsnest) I'm not prepared to do it without help.

From what i've gathered, you can run the single wire from the + battery terminal to the starter, then run another thick cable from the starter + terminal to a distribution block, which them you can have the other misc power cables go to. The earth can bolt to the chassis pretty much anywhere I gather, as long as it makes good contact.
Provided I have the moneys, I think i'll relocate my battery this weekend!

Yes, I forgot to take photos of the rest of the stuff in the engine bay. I have a distribution point close to where the battery used to be, and run a reasonably thick (but not uber-thick) cable from there to the starter.
And yes the whole deal works quite well; I've never had problems with hard starting, low voltages or anything like that.

Nice work Norbie.
Do you know if the Nylon strap is enough to secure the battery box for an Engineer?

That nylon strap is really only there to secure the lid on, you're supposed to have the battery box properly fastened down & then a battery clamp holding the battery down inside the box.
I've had my box bolted down but no battery clamp for quite a while & never had any greif (the wsid scrutineer was kind enough to not make me open up the box to show him the battery clamp ), but it's something I'd like to do before my car's back on the road.
There's no way that strap will keep the battery in if your car rolls, which is when you could really do without some splashing battery acid & a spark show spectacular.

Nice work.
Did you have to run an earth cable from the block to the chassis or did it have one already?

It had one already (as does every car I've seen) but I added another nice fat earth cable for good measure.
