Im wondering firstly whether the KE70/AE71 Wagon hatch is the same as the Panel Van? next, the AE71 in question is running a T40 gearbox which I assume means I can just slot a T50 in its place (ie cross members, gearbox spline all the same?)

I think he means, can the hatches from both the panel van and the wagon swap over.

The T40 and T50 gearbox's look identicle. Infact, its posiable to get a T40 gearbox, buy some parts, and convert it to a 5 speed T50. This is what they used to do in the USA, but I havn't heard of T40 gearbox's being used in Australia.
The K40/K50 gearbox is very different, and is only gor #K motors.

Yeah this AE71 panel van has a T40. The tag in the engine bay says so, and the fact it wont slot into the imaginary 5th gear also leads me to beleive its not a T50. So yeah anyone got a definate answer on the hatch? or got a Panel Van they would let me test a hatch on (got a KE70 wagon sitting there doing nothing)?
