hi,
I want it! Maybe i could drive up this weekend sometime to check it out?
This is exactly what i wanted out of my TA22 but i just dont have the time plus there was personal shit preventing me from working on it.
Is it finished?
If not, what work needs to be done to get it rego'd?
Can i get some pics of the interior please?
thanks,
tom

all i need to do to get it regoed is 4 new tyres and a blue silp
apart from that it is finished. the blue slip guy has already had alook at the car and said it is fine to pass, the car has also had recent noise test which it passed
Interior pics will be up tomorrow.

I would like to sell my car before buying another but depending on the condition of this i could happily keep both for a while.
You wouldnt be interested in a swap by any chance would you??

Hi,
How many km's on the engine?
Any pics of the interior?
What else has to be done to it?
Sorry I don't know much about this range of mechanics but is the T50 a turbo gearbox? and same sort of question about the diff.
With the blue slip, does that allow me to register it in QLD no troubles?

im not sure how many K's on the engine, but it is a fresh import ive only done about 200k's onit that includes on the dyno
both the diff and gearbox are the std TA22 items
i dont know if a NSW blueslip will be accepted in QLD, you would have to ask you local authorties
i took interior pics tonight but they turned out crap so i will take some more tomorrow and post them up then

Was that Sydney guy's name Jack? Did the polished rocker cover come from the spare head too? Looks a lot like the gear off my old 3TG, I thought it would be too much coincidence for someone else to have tig welded a bleeder like that on a corona thermostat housing
Good luck with the sale mate. Got plans for another project?

Did the the car have a 3TGTE before you put in the current one?
From the sounds of it, to make it fully legal, it'll need front brake upgrades. Then to make it last a w5x gearbox and better diff...
Sorry for spew typing but I want to buy something that doesn't need any/much work done to it, I'm no mechanic, or have the time.

ive seen the car im the flesh and it looks really tidy and ive also seen the engineers certificate that states that the brakes are sufficient due to uprated pads so you wont have any legal trouble with the setup. even if its not the best setup it is legal on this particular car.

what alainve said is true (but i havent seen car) as for box and diff as long as you are sensible then there are no issues with box and diff, but if you want smoke shows all day then good luck...
FREE BUMP
i would be interested but im building one right now, why couldnt you have sold this a couple months ago . if sale fails and a seperation is in mind then keep me in mind please

I also have 2 spare T50 gearboxes, and the car was engineered in 1998 with a different 3TGTE init, i brought the car with no motor and put a different 3TGTE init that i had just got.
so this car is fully legal.

Long Time No See, this was my first turbo toyota. My little Brother built it and i purchased it off him not long after.
It was engineered with the standard brakes and for street use up to 150 rwhp they seemed fine, never let me down. It is also engineered for 16 inch wheels, and upgraded brakes (that it does not need but never recieved ).
I have plenty of pics of it when it was first finished right up to when i sold it in 2001.
Great little car - i am sure the owner after myself didnt ever appreciate just how much work went into it.
Paint is in 2 pak, and was a bare metal resto in 1998, colour matching is a bit of a nightmare due to its highly custom nature.

Can you let me know when the blue slip is done and its ready for rego?

you know, theres this hot quick car which will change in image DRAMATICALLY once you put some different wheels on it, for a fraction of that money that has been spent on it, an interior with no holes from speakers spare gearbox centre diff heater cofre and god knows what else. FOR 4600 with no blueslip WHO CARES u can get one and NOBODY wants it? fukn strange i was gna grab it for 5 with blue but my loan got declined. Normally i woiuldnt be encouraging others to buy it but since theres no way in the world i can now i might as well. go and have a look at yogi8u and the other HOT celicas that r around. ALL ul need is to spend a grand on some hot wheels and thats it. u got uirself a show car basically maybe another grand for a retrim or new interior. MY PLAN was to get 4 buckets in it. Cut down the rear ones somehow so they fit nicely. JST some insight but if u want a hot car, i have no idea why your ignoring this 1. It has potential without breaking your back, as others have already been broken.
