i think this site should be a sticky topic in tech and conversions.
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBy Subject/Engine.html
the reason i say this is because it has lots of info and pics on
Toyota Engines
Gasoline engines - the data
Gasoline engines - the pictures
Diesel engines
Racing engines
Engine codes explained
Fuel Consumption (BSFC)
Models vs engines
What engines are worth modifying? A short guide.
Sources for used Japanese engines and other parts
Muffler test results (8/95)
Turbochargers and superchargers
Toyota turbochargers
Toyota superchargers
Boost control and wastegates
Upgrades
Toyota Fuel Injection
Introduction to Toyota fuel injection systems
Toyota EFI for 3T-GTEU (other analog EFI systems similar)
ECU connector pinouts
Trouble codes for Toyota EFI
Trouble codes for Toyota TCCS
5M-GE Engine Diagnostic Codes
Modifications
Fuel injectors
Air flow meters
Throttle bodies
Oxygen sensors
Fuel pumps
Water injection
MDS Engine Management System
all this info and yet people still ask heaps of stuff that could prevent too many topics on simple questions that could be answered in an instance.
toymods administrators and moderators i think you should consider this because it would save you excess threads on shit

first up - yup, ive been meaning to sticky that, youve reminded me, and its now done.
secondly - people are WAYYY stoopid. even though its now in the FAQ section, dont expect people will read it
*sigh*
(oh - anytime anyone feels like compiling a FAQ of links to past threads or links on specific, regulalrly discussed topics, feel free! PM me for details!)
cheers

becasue SO much stuff could get pu there - it would just get horribly congested, and current live threads would begin halfway down the page.
all people have to do is click the FAQ link - its not that hard, people are just lazy

All we'd have to do it sort it out into categories.
When I find time in 2050, I'll help you with that.

Why not just go and teach every new user who joins the forum how to use a search engine?
Definately more effective than FAQ's.
The problem is that people who want to help themselves will and people who don't want to will just ask dodgy questions no matter what. That's how people are I'm afraid.

u should set up an agrrement thing when people signin up for a username account thing must read the rules and read the stickys. like internet agreement at tafe, - dont look at porn, dont use it for anything but study etc. - and you have to accept to go on the net. i dunno i suppose people r stupid. u can lead a duck to water but u cant make it drink.

have you ever read the terms and conditions when installing software? cause i know i've never, they'll just click next like i do
about a year ago i got half way threw making a website just for engine details but it got pushed aside by games
I got it lying around somewhere, was pretty wikid, you click on the catagory, brings up all the engines in that one, click a certain engine image. Bring up a picture and details about that engine eg. litres, KW and hp + more and it tell you what cars the engine was in. Also different generations of the engines and there details.
Maybe on day i'll get on my ass and finish it off

I didn't mean the Tech & Conversions section in the forums, I meant it on our front page.
That part hasn't been updated since I joined the club almost 3 years ago.
If anyone had a tech article, they could be sorted into:
Car
Model
type (eg body, engine, suspension, brake, running gear, etc)
This would help those starting out who have no idea what can/can't be done to their cars to see what has been done by others (like me when I started). If you don't know what you're looking for, there's no way to search for it.
