HKS turbo's of that era are not ballbearing. In fact the T04 range havent had a ballbearing model until recently. But dont get all caught up on the ball-bearing fad. It isnt that worthy in my opinion, although if you have a race car and 10ths of seconds count then by all means grab one. I had a T04S on my 7M and it spooled very nicely and made great power and was rebuildable should anything occur. Try rebuilding a ballbearing for anything reasonable cost wise. Consider that Trust have only just recently released their first ballbearing turbo too, they have managed to build a huge reputation on plain bearing mitsubishi turbos. Also of note, HKS turbos didnt have HKS cast on them anywhere until around the time of their ballbearing range release either, so just cause it says garrett on the cover doesnt mean it isnt HKS.

and yeah, that may be the RB25 manifold, I have 2 X T04E kits, the 7MGTE and RB25, very similar, just slightly different. I may have included pic of RB25 one... I'll update now.
There are 2 T04E turbos to choose from, and 2 X HKS wastegates to choose from, both interchangeable.

Mine was a 550ps T04S not a T04E as shown, I was making 275rwkw @ 13psi in 4th gear using shoot-out mode

T04S is a bigger turbo then the T04E, doesnt make it better though unless you are chasing more power then the E can support.
Supramans kit contains the HKS manifold which alone will reap benefits due to the poor design of the stock setup.

Yeh I dont have a 7mgte  of about 3 years of owning my supra i never found a second hand after market turbo kit in australia until i found this site about 2 months ago when i was selling my car, i was spewing. Thanks for the info soarer21
Sorry for for taking ure posts with my questions kristian. When i get my 1ggte celica ill be in contact for a after market turbo kit if it doesnt have one and you can get em.

Actually the T04R is only rated to 600ps but still a decent power source.............

Will this turbo and manifold (the one at the start of the post) match up directly to a stock 7M with no alterations? I'm especially concerned about the stock air intake to the turbo - will that fit directly to this one?

I believe it will. This is exactly the same as the last 7MGTE Turbo kit I sold, which came off a NON TURBO 7MGE, and went straight onto a TURBO 7MGTE.

to4r is rated at 720 hp its a t66 front wheel, just a hks comp and exhaust cover, we know this cos we got one, some ppl ahve even made more with them
