Ok i am asking a lot in this post but i am wondering what it would cost to do a full engine rebuild in a 7M-GE engine. Labour would be nothing as family mechanics and i know a few. but what parts would io need and there perspectve cost. This would be great help.

what the hell leads did you get?
my MSD leads (read: uber expensive) cost $170, and at the time, they were the dearest by a mile.

what you'll need is to contact a jap import place and stick in a 1J You'll Need to buy a genuine Toyota VRS kit 5 to 6 hundred dollars there, since its apart and you have a new VRS kit may as well rebuild the head (valve stem seals die after a while) that a few hundred, then it depends on what you call a rebuild...if your talking new bearings and a clean no more than a grand but if your going full rebuild the sky is the limit!!!!

timing belt, 75-90 depending on quality (various makes available)
also, for the real bargain hunter - you cant go past gasket kits off eBay from the US. cheap as shit.
oh, looking for pressures around 140-150 on all 6 shouldnt be unreasonable on an engine of that mileage. make sure you look for complete DUD cyls - thats where the big probs lie, less so than with generally low overall compression.

some other construction and material which i fail to recall right now. genuine is fine though - i just went the better one as i value keeping my valves away from my pistons - and there aint a lot of space in there anymore

oh
and as a comparison
the mob i work for just got a 12 piston recip compressor fully rebuilt for a client. Cost us $14000 in house to rebuild(out workshop in brisbane did it for us...so wish i worked in brisbane). Damn york genuine parts are bloody expensive, and we get them at heavily discounted prices because we're their australian rep(bought the rights to use the name or something)
I'd really hate to see what the clients bill will be for the rebuild(plus labour of taking out the compressor and putting it back in its home...i should charge them as well for pulling a shoulder muscle whilst unbolting the bloody thing)

130 thou = 130/1000 x 25(mills in an inch approx.)
= about 3.25 mm is that rite??
if so that is a lot
