I have a 2TG pump. Its not new or near new but it was working fine until I ripped it off and replaced it with a 2T pump.

The 2T fan fits and works fine. You just have to block off the bypass outlet on the top. I fitted a 2T fan to the girl friends 2TG so I could use the standard fan.

we did this a while ago.
we fitted the 2t pump to a 2tg.
just cut off the bypass
get a treadding tool and make a tread
put some plumbers tape around a bolt and bolt it in to block it up the by pass hole
grind the bolt head off and hey presto.

Or just put a rubber cap over it and hose clamp it.

using a proper tapered plug works better a rubber cap would foul the timing chain cover.
