Most people don't pull their odometer apart. You will need another gauge set from the wrecker.

it would be near impossible the find one off a wrecker since the dash is digital and i don't think they'll have what i'm looking for.
the normal corona dashes, the cog on it is similar but bigger

im about to pull my digi dash out of my supra (and loft it into the bin) i can see if it has something similar inside it 
as for getting it made - hell yes, can be done. my machinst does bits like that all the time...
...you do not, however, want to know how much it would cost

That would be under 20$ part if there weren't that longitudinal gear, which would be such a PITA to make.

Have you enquired directly to Toyota? They seem to have some strange pricing policies, so you may just be lucky both in part availability and price?!

add another zero and youd be getting there
my das is having 'brown outs' and ive got an analogue dash waiting to go it.
sure i can sent it to perth. cost about $10/12 or so
ill drop you a line when its out (which, thinking about it, could be more like 3 weeks)
