Removing Front Water Outlet Pipe (4AG 100kw)

Alright, ive got a slight issue with the front water outlet (the one on the head) on my 100kw, in that the pipe which runs to the remote thermostat fouls on the inlet manifold.
Who thinks it is safe to just block this pipe off on the outlet, and on the thermostat? From what i can see it leads to the general pre-thermostat chamber, and so i cant think of any reason it would lead to troubles. Unless it needs water flow through there while the thermostat is closed.
Anyone.
