I noticed today that the engine number on my rally project (75 TA22 auto) begins with 3T. I am assuming that this is an 1.8 litre. It can't be factory though as the compliance plate states 1588cc. The motor looks like any other 2T. My question: Are there any other differences between the 2T and 3T single cam engines (apart from the extra 200cc)
3T's are later model engines than the 2T which came out in the TA22, which means it has lower compression and more emissions gear. I had a 3T in my old TA22 and it was line-ball with my friend's TA22 which had a stock 2T. The extra capacity was obviously introduced to make up for the power lost with the emissions requirements.
