What do you think of this?

Hi guys, i'm sure most of you have sold a car in your time but i've just recently sold mine and the weirdest thing happened.
2 days after i sell the car i get a call from the guy's dad who brought the car. He goes...'My son turned on the aircon and it didn't work' now i replied that i had told them that it need to be regased (i'm sure of this). He tells me that it was not fair that he did not know about this. Now let me tell you he looked at the car on Sat., went for a drive, then came back on Sunday with his mechanic, his mechanic said the car was ok, then he negotiates with me abit, me being lazy didn't bother arguing and took the first figure. Simple sale, he picks up the car and pays on Monday.
He's the funny part, he thinks that i should be paying 1/2 the cost of the regas as it's MY fault for not telling them. What do you guys think of this? Then he says if i gave it to him for a cheap price he is willing to transfer it back to me if i pay him back his money.
He's what i though;
1) If he couldn't get a decent mechanic or figure out something himself he's more at fault that i would be if i didn't tell him about the regas.
2) If i'm selling a car why the hell would i want it back? i'm not in the business of selling and buying cars
3) i don't own the car why should i be paying?
So guys what do you think of this funny situation?

Just tell him that You sold it to him in good faith, that he had his mechanic look over it and deemed it to be good enough for him to make an offer and buy the car. And as such, it is no longer you problem. You are not a car yard and you don't give out warranties. The guy sounds like he is trying to bend you over and do you dry .
Cheers
Jeff

Lol thats a joke.
Tell em to get stuffed..
but do it nicely because if this nutter had the audacity to call you and tell you this he's probably gonna take you to court if you act like a cunt to him. Just explain you explained it, he bought the car the deal was done theres no warrantys in private sales and its their property now. You cant fix it.

Im with him.
If anyone knew anything, you check the car out first by real mechanics and check it out yourself.
If you dont find anything wrong with it when you buy it, then its your problem not someone elses.
Tell them to go jump off a cliff, you did what you could, you said what needed to be said, and you let them check it over by their own means.
Theyve paid the cash, its theirs now not yours, they can deal with it.
