Tim, its not my black 86 that you saw, that was hit up the arse 4 weeks after i got it registered. I bought this red 89 just recently to replace it. Amazing how quick plans change eh?
Ezekiel it has 191ks on the clock but head gasket and head bolts were only just replaced with genuine toyota parts. Although the kms seem high it is a nice car and price is reasonable, definantly worth a look, and an offer, maybe?

Dude, property aint worth sacrificing your youth for!! I mean, yeah, it'll set you up buts what's the point of getting there if you don't enjoy the journey??!! I mean it'll be nice to have something behind you but is it worth giving up all these years for?? (not talking about the supra alone, also the awful hours you work!) WHEN DO YOU GET TO LIVE!!! I remember a while back just after you got your supra registered the HG blew and you wewre like "I've driven it 1000 k's in a week!!" shit! I did 1000 k's the first day I got my celica!! Relax a little man!!!

Tim, man, relax...... Easy in principle but everything in this world costs so much. Sometimes the sacrifice is worth it to reap the benifits in the not to distant future. As i live by the motto "the who dies with the most toys wins" im hoping by sacrificing one toy now and working those god awful hours for a little while, i will REALLY be able to enjoy my toys later on. Call me a silly optimist, idealist, or what ever, but im hoping it all pans out for me. I know this is off the topic but how is the celica going?

The celica went OK for while but the motor was playing up, I think one of the sensors are going, it ran rich and didn't want to idle then I did this big burnout, sideways around a round-a-bout and it kinda went chuff! and started jumping a bit. Either the sensor gave up completely or I fucked it!! I bought a new car today as my celica ran out of rego and I wil pull it all back down and do it all better this time, when I have the money!!

seems like quite a reasonable price for a turbo manual WITH SUNROOF! the only thing better would be a targa version! (which barely exist).

If it were targa (and black), id have bought her off u! Smile oh wells.

Chuck it in the trading post... quite a big demand for manual supras.

Ezikiel, Witzl, & MasterP, No luck with your mates? This is the best value MA71 in the country. If anyone does come out to look they will not be dissapointed!
While im having a gripe why is it when you put your car in the trading post you get all these test pilots ring up, you tell them how good your car is, they make an appointment to look, you waste an afternoon waiting for them, and they never show? Can anyone help me out with the logic behind that one?

people are dumbkunts man. Selling a car is hard! People call, just to get info and are dreamers. They have no intention to buy.
Especially a supra. Its a very select market. But the people who want one will keep hunting until they find the right one.

It sounds very nice, but I already got one.

Selling any car is hard unless its at a very good price.

But yeh, I like the fact its a 5 speed.

Rattlehead, i thought $12k for a manual Australian delivered MK3 Turbo was a VERY VERY GOOD price, especially as i am negotiable. Every other one i see advertised is around $15k mark. Ive even seen one latley as high as $19k. Now i know some people are dreamers, and i know my car is not perfect, but it is still damn good. $12k has got to be considered cheap!!! I consider it cheap but i need the money and need it yesterday.
As a comparison for $12k you can get a VS Commondore, EF Foulcan, or a 3litre Turbo Mk3 Manual Supra. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Which one would you get?

umm...I didnt say u had ur car at an expensive price...just commented on how hard cars are to sell.
If u had it for sale in March/April, was black with targa roof...then I'd get it for sure. But like I said, I already got my own mk3.

Mr MA70, wait till around mid november when people finish year 12 and uni exams. Thats when young ppl go car shopping Smile

A manual ma70 turbo though is always a good find, even if its not targa. Theres very few manuals for sale in the country at any given time, so if someone is set on buying one, then they will pay for it!

Do u have any pics? wouldnt mind havin a looksee Smile

Just a bit of a free bump for MR MA70. I saw this car on friday night in the mortdale area and must say it sounds hot and has the looks to go with it with such a presence on the road. This is the exact same car I will be purchasing when I finish University; its a shame you cant wait till next year!

Anyway, good luck with the sale. Im sure the buyer will not be disappointed and at that price it is a steal.

Nothing wrong with it. It must be the price that turns people off. Not one person who has called up has showed up to see it. Im sure if someone who wants a MA70 actually saw it they would snap it up straight away. I dont know what to do. Have 2 more weeks to come up with the money, hence the price. Im loosing heaps but it is an urgent sale so what can you do?

I'd think you'll find the reason being is that you have a limited audience here. I'd be advertising in the real world as well. I understand you motivation to sell on the forum as we would like our much loved vehicles to go to a fellow enthusiast after all we put into them.
Many of the people on this forum do follow the common trend of smaller vehicle and 4 pot turbo engines, for obvious reasons. Many here to get more bang for cheap bucks. Not being critical of them though.
The Supra is a great vehicle with very high potential RWHP that drives very well at speed, with great confidence and driver feedback, due to its weight. Other enthusiasts are yet to discover the beauty and power of owning the Supra.
You will always get your money if you have the time to wait for the buyer who wants a Supra. I hope he comes along soon. The best advice is to advertise in the paper to capture the large audience.
Michael (MA70 Supra Turbo owner for 12 years. Not bias at all!!)

Hey MR MA70,
U still selling???? I am very interested! In fact i'm going out looking for MkIII turbo supras tommorrow. What i've found is some guy in castle hill selling his '89 for around $11k but its done 220,000 km's. He said he got a re-con'd engine and gearbox @200,000 but its still a lot of K's....alternatively i have a guy in Westmead selling his '88 auto for $10990 who claims to have a full toyota service history and has done 163,000 km's, he didn't mention anything about replaced head gaskets or a different engine.
So yeah, i'd definetly be interested in checking out your MA70.

Generally, if any of you guys are reading this, i'm a bit of a newbie to the supra world, in fact i just found this site 20 mins ago. I've heard a lot of MkIII's have the head gasket problem, how much approx. does it cost to fix? After how many km's average does it go? I was considering getting an inspection done on anything i plan on buying but i'm wondering whether a general NRMA inspection will pick this sorta stuff up?
Also if there's some link or something to somewhere like a MkIII buyers guide or something to answer all my newbie questions then feel free to direct me,

We have both been doing it to oneanother.
Your car sounds like a very good deal. Can't understand why these guys arn't snapping it up. I suppose they havn't had the opportunity to drive such a strong confident car.

Congrats,
At that price the buyer got an absolute BARGAIN! The Supra is a lot of car for that small amount of cash.
I'm sure the new owner will be over the moon. I've been very happy with mine for 12yrs.

Agreed, that's a deadset bargain! I'm just so surprised that it took so long. I've seen that car, and it looks immaculate!
I doubt there will be any more straight MK3 Turbo 5spd's at that price for a long time.
