Difference between "CS" and "SE" Corollas? Thu, 09 September 2004 02:13 Go to next message
Stupid question, perhaps...but what is the difference between these two differently badged cars. I mean when I'm looking in the paper for a car and i see CS and SE, I'm like..."what's the diff?".

Cheers,

dez

Which models in particular ??? I know in the old school ones pre 1981 it's mainly cosmetic differences. eg, seat, door handles, door trims, gauges etc.

If you let people know the years or models you are interested in someone will have some more useful info for you.

Cheers.

The SE is traditionally the base model - lowest performance engine, lowest specification. Depends on the exact car, though. Look them up on www.drive.com.au under the 'value your car' section on the left. This will bring up the model you want and you can click each badging to see what they had. 95% of the time this is accurate.

FWIW, I had an 89 Corolla SE - it had the carby 1.4l 6A engine, and no p/s, a/c, etc. The 89 Corolla CS came with the carby 1.6l 4A engine, and from memory had the p/s and a/c available as options.

Thanks dudes, I'm on the prowl for a ke30 or ke55 (which puts the timeframe from about the mid 70s to 1980), and it's just a tad confusing when trying to make a choice, as well as research these differences.

I'll check out "drive dot com" and the rolla boys in sydney's site...

Cheers peoples Smile
