Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has any specs on the vh45de? Not really the right forum, i know, but ppl round here seem to know handy facts. I'm particularly after physical dimensions and weights, but something like a dyno graph would also be nice!
ALso any comparisons between it and the 1uz would be great...
also have a ra28 for sale if anyone interested...(trying to justify me being here)
thanks alot! John

Ummm, where Jamie when you need him???
I'm pretty sure this was one of the engines he sized up for his TA22 but it was too big. Mind you, he has a TT 1UZ there now so the Nissan engine must be a little bigger.

thanks for the response! gee thats a fair bit heavier than what ive heard the 1uz weighs. Didnt think there'd be such a big difference. I was originally considering the 1uz for the swap but have been tempted by the extra output and nissan heritage of the vh45.
I wonder whether the width of the heads could be much more than the 1uz? I think, this would be my main concern. considering the extra 0.5 of a litre would only add about 60cc to each cylinder. but i guess it comes down more to the design. any insights?

Well i know the nissan is an all alloy quad cam v8, apparently the bottom head is hell strong and even the yanks are starting to use them in some of their muscle cars. If u find one, make sure the throttle body is on it, as the japs take them off to put on to the rb2*'s.
