My 1G doesn't have an ignitor/coil, just wondering what engines came with the same part (I happen to have a 22RE one on my....22re...which owuld be quite convenient if the same p/n!)
thanks,
Stefan

If it's a 1GGE (and not 1GGTE) then yes, it will probably be the same if the 22RE is 4 pin. I once used a 5MGE coil/igniter on a 1GGE so I doubt if there is much difference.

Grant, what are the coil and ignitor requirements for the 1GGTE generation of engines, and are they the same requirements for all three generations? What's interchangable for them?

The coil and igniters for a 1GGTE are unique but I don't think there is any difference between them functionally. I have used gen1's on gen2, and gen3' on gen2's etc and never had an issue.

Thanks all. I should have said 1GGTE, silly me. At least now I know I can just chase down one from any gen.

Yeah, I agree with John S that it shouldn't make any difference which 1GGTE igniter/coil you use but to be on the safe side I'd try and match your Gen first. Saying that though, I have also swapped these around and they all worked.
