I would say no as i am pretty sure the T-18 T50 has ditterent ammount ot splines on the input shaft 20 i think and the AE-71/AE-86 T-50 has a 22spline input shaft.
I am pretty sure about that but would be good if someone could support my story

If the output splines are different you can always use a T18 front tailshaft section too.
I've heard of a few people on here trying it without good results. From memory some work needs to be done on the A bellhousing to get it to fit to the T18 box.
If it is possible then I am very interested.

Yes it can be used, but I would advise against it. The bearing supports in the A series bellhousings are differnet to the requirements for the box, simply dismissing this fact often sees them leak oil quickly. the output shafts are also different, but this can be solved by using the T18 front shaft as mentioned above. Personally, I'd pay the extra for the AE86/71 box.

...and the T18 gearbox has a smaller diameter, radial ball bearing to support the input shaft, which is pretty pissweak (have broken several ), whereas the 4AC/AG one has a nice roller bearing which seems to take abuse much better.
