18R - are those coolant outlet things available new? Thu, 09 September 2004 13:36 Go to next message
Hi guys

Just fixing up my 18R a little... does anyone know where I can source the coolant outlets from the front passenger's side of the cylinder head (the ones that screw into the head)?

I don't imagine that autobarn would have such a specific part (and I'm sick of going there trying to explain what I want and having them offer me something else)... does Toyota stock these?

I've been to a few wreckers and they're all either badly corroded or already gone, so I assume they're a commonly sought-after item... was hoping that someone would know as a result where to get these and how ludicrously they're priced.

Cheers

Leigh

i used plain brass fittings with thread on one side, barbs on other to suit heater hose (from ABC at oxley)

the small outlet on the factory item - that joins to the water pump - was ignored as it' only a bypass setup in case of blockage in the engine and heater. Drill extra bleed hole in thermostat to accomodate it's removal.

I knew there was a reason I used the Internet. What a great (and bloody obvious - god I'm stupid) idea!

Thanks
